The 2011 Tom-Gallon Trust Award

19.06.11

My short story, ‘What I Learned From Idle Jed’, was highly commended in the 2011 Tom-Gallon Trust Award, overseen by The Society of Authors. It wasn’t a win, but it was enough to get me invited to the outrageously enjoyable 2011 Authors' Awards party at The Cavalry and Guards Club in London last Tuesday. I had a jug of water thrown over me in a bizarre case of mistaken identity (these kinds of things have a habit of happening to me) but it only added to the fun! Further details to follow in due course...

The boy and his animals now 10% cheaper!

22.01.11

Despite these times of economic hardship, my poetry collection 'The boy and his animals' is now available (via this website
) for the reduced price of £4.49 including postage and packing.

It's also available via Amazon and Ebay, but only at ridiculous prices which even I wouldn't like to argue it was worth...

New Facebook Page

20.01.11

OK, so this may not sound much like news... But it's taken me long enough to get my act together and start a proper facebook page, so I've got to mark the moment somehow. The fledgling page, on which my more day to day stuff (minor publications, my reviews of other people's work etc.) will appear, can be found here:

2008 Mail on Sunday novel competition

08.09.09

My entry for the 2008 Mail on Sunday novel competition (for the best opening extract of a novel, up to 150 words) has come joint 4th. There’s been limited publicity to date, but it’s already led to some interesting developments (more to follow!) and as there are thousands of entries each year, I’m really quite pleased. I’d rather have won, of course…
